A NEW YEAR

The New Year is a time to look back at the previous year and forward to what is coming in 2023. Last fall, we delivered a commissioned table to the new owners in Kamloops, British Columbia. The Black Walnut live-edge table had been made specifically to fit in the entrance way of their new home. I designed the iron base with Blacksmith Artist Matt Church and the finished table was magnificent and perfect for the setting.

Delivering the table on a road trip out west allowed us to see previously purchased tables and bowls in the home of our patrons. I don’t often get a chance to see my work after it leaves my studio so it was a real treat.

I was also able to travel to the Algonquin Art Centre in Algonquin Park a few times last year to see my bowls and platters on display in the gallery. I am honoured to have my art in such a prestigious centre with so many renowned artists.

My days spent turning in my workshop have resulted in a growing inventory for the upcoming Artists of the Limberlost Studio Tour on August 18, 19 and 20 from 10am to 5pm. I have had time to sort through my stock of burls and wood and I am pleased with what I have to offer for the show— burl and live-edge bowls, platters, charcuterie boards and burl tables.

In 2023 we will have 24 artists in 8 studios and historic lodges in the Limberlost area. I am available before the studio tour by appointment if you wish to see my work.
